With issue # Shipping on Wednesday the 22nd, (I'll be working and flying to london for the London Super Comic con, I thought I'd present the original pencils and inks for the Ray covers.
As you can see i did a lot of cover sketches for each issue.
You'll notice a different hair line for the original pencils for issue 1's cover. DC decided they wanted the more"bald" look after the fact and I obliged.
I played with the sizing to get the effect right for the cover for issue # 3.
All the covers were inked traditionally with brush and pen. As tight as the pencils are there's a level of solidity required for the digital treatment and I dont have a Cintiq yet. I will be experimenting in the near future with Digital inking.
I hope DC includes all this stuff in the eventual TPB, with the original pitch as well :)
